Cleaning Operative
, you will be a vital part of our night cleaning team, ensuring high standards of cleanliness and hygiene throughout Reading Station. This includes all public and staff-accessible areas such as platforms, lifts, toilets, washrooms, and any other designated zones.
Key Responsibilities
The role involves performing general cleaning duties throughout the station, including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, and waste disposal. The cleaner will be responsible for maintaining cleanliness in high-traffic areas such as washrooms, lifts, and platforms. Duties include the proper use of cleaning equipment, tools, and products in accordance with training and safety guidelines. It is essential to ensure that all cleaning equipment is kept clean, well-maintained, and in safe working condition. The role also requires prompt response to ad-hoc cleaning requests or incidents as directed by Supervisors or Managers. Adherence to Health & Safety regulations, company policies, and site-specific procedures is mandatory, with full training provided. Additionally, the cleaner must accurately log tasks and follow operational procedures using the internal system, Merlin.
Requirements
The ideal candidate should be able to work night shifts reliably and independently while also contributing effectively as part of a team. They must be willing to undertake full Health & Safety and equipment training. A proactive attitude, strong attention to detail, and good time management skills are essential for this role. Additionally, the candidate should be comfortable using a digital reporting system, with full training on the internal system, Merlin, provided.
