Position Summary
Baptist Health Princeton Hospital
Administers patient care in an inpatient or observation setting where an acute care patient receives active treatment for an injury, illness, medical condition, or post-intervention assessment.
Responsibilities
Essential Functions
1. Assess patient needs and develop/revise individualized care plans based on patient responses. Evaluate patient progress toward expected outcomes.
2. Respect diversity by building respectful relationships with team members and patients.
3. Advocate for patients and their families.
4. Provide age-appropriate care based on the patient's developmental stage.
5. Serve as preceptor, charge nurse, educator, or clinician as needed.
6. Collaborate with medical staff and interdisciplinary teams for effective care planning and management.
7. Model professional behavior and support hospital and nursing goals.
8. Apply principles of growth and development, assessing data reflective of patient status and needs.
9. Coordinate care and delegate tasks appropriately to team members.
10. Document patient care accurately, including assessments, education, medication administration, treatments, and safety measures.
11. Demonstrate competency in nursing skills and equipment use.
12. Prioritize patient care according to evidence-based standards.
13. Identify and resolve problems effectively.
14. Delegate tasks considering patient needs and team member capabilities.
15. Communicate patient condition and unit concerns effectively.
16. Provide compassionate, therapeutic environment practices.
17. Be aware of legal issues and patient rights.
18. Support new staff and students through collaboration with education and leadership teams.
19. Maintain regular attendance in accordance with policies and legal standards.
20. Ensure compliance with all organizational policies and procedures.
Other Related Functions
1. Contribute to team knowledge, skills, and quality improvement initiatives.
2. Participate or lead in nursing practice and performance improvement committees.
3. Engage in peer review, mentoring, and coaching.
4. Use supplies efficiently and maintain a safe, organized workspace.

7. Perform other duties as assigned.
Virtual Hospital Care at Home
1. Provide patient care in virtual settings, assessing needs and revising care plans accordingly.
2. Use TeleHealth technology for virtual visits, assessing symptoms, and escalating issues as needed.
3. Coordinate with in-home clinical staff to support patient needs.
4. Provide age-appropriate care and address urgent needs autonomously.
Hospital Care at Home (In-home Nursing)
1. Administer direct patient care in the home setting, assessing needs and contributing to care plans.
2. Travel to patient homes within designated regions.
3. Use virtual technology to connect with the Patient Care Hub for virtual visits.
4. Transport items, equipment, and medications as needed (excluding controlled substances and chemotherapy drugs).
Qualifications
Education/Training
* Graduate of an approved nursing school.
* Meet all competency requirements for Orlando Health and specific department.
Licensure/Certification
* Current Alabama RN license or valid multistate license.
* Current BLS/Healthcare Provider certification.
* Additional certifications like ACLS, NRP, PALS, TNCC may be required depending on the area.
* Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation for in-home visits.
Experience
* Minimum 1 year of nursing experience unless approved otherwise.
* Two years of acute care nursing experience required for Hospital Care at Home.
