We have an exciting opportunity within the paediatric metabolic CNS team. The Southwest regional metabolic department cares for over 650 patients, and the CNS is often the first contact for patients, families, and professionals.
Responsibilities include:
* Organising emergency alerts and illness management
* Conducting specialist tests, investigations, and infusions
* Providing education to healthcare professionals and families
* Offering practical and emotional support to patients and families with rare disorders
This role suits a paediatric nurse with excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills. You will support patients from diagnosis through ongoing care and transition or end-of-life care, working flexibly to ensure a safe and friendly regional service.
You will be part of an established CNS team providing comprehensive metabolic care. If you aim to advance your career and deliver excellent care for children with metabolic disorders, we would love to hear from you.
Additional responsibilities include:
* Advising patients and staff on managing complex symptoms and emergencies
* Developing and improving service quality and cost-effectiveness
* Sharing expertise within the multidisciplinary team
* Acting as a resource for patient care needs
* Collaborating with community and hospital staff to ensure seamless services
* Supporting patient investigations and treatments, including CNS-led procedures
* Planning and coordinating patient assessments in line with care plans and national guidelines
* Providing cross-cover for related CNS services
