We are looking for a Leadership Support Officer (LSO) to provide high‑quality administrative and executive support to Service Directors within the Children and Education Directorate. This is a key role at the heart of the organisation, supporting senior management to operate effectively while ensuring professionalism, confidentiality and excellent customer service at all times.
Responsibilities
* Provide exceptional administrative and executive support to Service Directors, ensuring their service areas run smoothly and efficiently.
* Manage complex diaries, meetings and correspondence, using initiative and sound judgement to prioritise workloads and resolve issues.
* Organise, attend and minute meetings, including those of a sensitive or confidential nature, tracking actions and ensuring follow‑up.
* Support the delivery of strategic objectives through forward planning, monitoring deadlines and coordinating information across services.
Qualifications
* Experience providing high‑level administrative or executive support in a complex organisation, including diary management, meetings and correspondence.
* Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to engage professionally with senior officers, elected members and external stakeholders.
* Strong organisational and time‑management skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and meet tight deadlines.
* High levels of confidentiality and discretion, with experience handling sensitive and politically sensitive information appropriately.
* Advanced IT skills, including Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and digital collaboration tools such as Teams and SharePoint.
