The role involves providing domestic service to patients, staff and visitors of NHS Lanarkshire premises through effective and efficient methods that deliver a safe and welcoming environment and meet NHSL and Hospital Acquired Infections standards. You will work alongside and support new staff in the working environment.

NHS Lanarkshire serves a population of 655,000 across rural and urban communities in both North and South Lanarkshire. The organisation comprises Acute Services, Corporate & Property & Support Services, and North and South Lanarkshire Health and Social Care Partnerships which provide integrated primary healthcare and social care services.
Responsibilities
* Provide domestic services to patients, staff and visitors in NHSL premises, ensuring a safe and welcoming environment and compliance with infection control standards.
* Work alongside and support new staff in the working environment.
What we’ll need you to bring
* Knowledge of cleaning standards and related procedures.
* On-the-job training and induction (generally 4–6 weeks) to achieve full competency across a range of duties.
* Working knowledge of Health & Safety, including risk assessment of tasks.
* PaMOVA training level 1 and level 2 if identified after appropriate risk assessment.
* Undertake NHS Lanarkshire compulsory training.
* Undertake mandatory Health Care Support Workers (HCSW) standards.
* Undertake and complete NHSS Domestic Services Workbook.
* Effective written and verbal communication skills.
* Ability to work with people and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
* Ability to carry out assigned tasks effectively in a busy environment.
* Working knowledge of basic information technology.
* If a driving licence is required for vacancies, it must be a full UK/EU/EEA licence.
Nice to have
* Recognised SVQ or equivalent relevant qualification.
* Experience in domestic services/cleaning.
* Knowledge of systems and processes such as HAI, Manual Handling, Management of Aggression, Infection Control, COSHH, Fire Safety.
* Use of a range of electrical cleaning equipment.
* Flexibility and willingness to learn.
* Ability to work under pressure.
Contract type and salary
Permanent
Part Time – 15.80 hours. Salary pro-rata for part-time posts.
Location and working pattern
Based in PSSD- Domestics within Greenhills Health Centre. Working pattern is to be confirmed.
