An opportunity has arisen in the Cellular Pathology department at Lincoln County Hospital for a Medical Laboratory Assistant (MLA).
We are seeking an enthusiastic and committed individual to join our team to support tissue diagnostics for Lincolnshire NHS Trusts.
As an MLA, you will be an integral part of the laboratory team. Main duties include specimen reception and data entry, sample processing, microtomy, equipment maintenance, slide filing, and other general laboratory tasks. Full training will be provided. Some tasks require manual dexterity and attention to detail.
The laboratory operates between 08:00 and 17:30. Staff participate in a rota within these hours. Saturday and Sunday working may be required on a rotational basis once competencies are achieved.
Candidates should have good numeracy and literacy skills (ideally GCSE Grade C or above in Mathematics and English), be confident in using IT and complex equipment, and be able to communicate effectively with healthcare professionals.
Previous experience working within processes and following strict guidelines and SOPs would be advantageous.
Path Links is committed to continuous improvement, and full engagement from staff is expected.
We encourage informal visits to the department.
