What you’ll be doing
as a PMO Reporting & Insights Lead
1. Oversee the effective execution of consistent reporting frameworks across AO&CD PMO and the wider business to drive performance improvement.
2. Accountable for analysing and interpreting key, often complex performance data and trends to enable effective prioritisation and decision making at Director level.
3. Act as a critical friend to the Strategic Sponsorship model in relation to Portfolio delivery performance.
4. Ensure Sponsorship Directors have timely and accurate information and expert advice to enable them to effectively drive Portfolio delivery.
5. Accountable for providing a holistic, end-to-end strategic view of Portfolio delivery performance, enabling deliverers to be held to account.
6. Understand and articulate complex issues, dependencies and relationships across multiple Programmes and Portfolios.
7. Accountable for Portfolio-level trend analysis, performance modelling and variance root cause analysis processes (including Earned Value Management techniques) to measure and forecast Portfolio performance.
8. Challenge performance delivery and provide expert advice to actively contribute to the development of performance improvement strategies.
9. Drive the development and continuous improvement of Portfolio dashboards and insights to enable informed decision-making by Directors and Senior Management in line with approved MBR requirements.
10. Facilitate quarterly Capital Allocation Review sessions with the Executive and Directors.
11. Act as the central point of contact for aligning reporting processes between the Hub, Spokes and Sponsorship Directors.
12. Collaborate with stakeholders across AO&CD and the wider business to deliver robust reporting services and translate data into insights and appropriate visualisations.
13. Maintain and apply quality management processes for.
14. Project, programme and Portfolio activities and output.
15. Continuously improve ways of working by applying a structured continuous improvement techniques and methods.
Base location: Reading - Hybrid

What you should bring to the role
To thrive in this role, the essential criteria you’ll need is:
16. Higher education in Business Management, Commercial, Engineering, Project Management or Finance related subject.
17. Advanced analytical skills, including trend analysis and performance modelling.
18. Data management frameworks and architectures.
19. Hold/willing to work towards APM qualifications – APM PPQ, APM PMQ or APM Major Project
20. Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of complex capital projects and major programmes.
21. Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management.
22. Extensive experience in managing complex Portfolio reporting and insights.
23. Ability to manage and provide value-added information and recommendations to senior stakeholders, including sponsors.
24. Experience of gathering, analysing and presenting complex information to different audiences to support strategic decision making, utilising professional judgement where required.
25. Strong understanding of the end-to-end investment lifecycle.
26. Track record of leading, managing and successfully deploying large-scale change initiatives.
27. Proven strategic thinker, able to see the bigger picture and manage/lead multiple activities.
28. Significant data interpretation experience.
