Senior Connectivity Engineer / Networking / VPN / Go / Python / Linux
Location: Wallingford - Oxfordshire (Hybrid)
Permanent
At Dexory, we are transforming the warehousing and logistics industry through data intelligence. We are recruiting a Senior Connectivity Engineer to take day‑to‑day ownership of the connectivity layer that keeps our global robot fleet online. You will build the tooling and automation that makes managing mesh VPN, industrial routers, Wi‑Fi and cellular connectivity across the fleet fast, repeatable and observable.
Offices are based in Wallingford, Oxford, with this role offered on a flexible hybrid basis (approximately once every 4 weeks on site).
Experience in robotics, telematics, connected vehicles, industrial IoT, or start‑up/scale‑up environments is desirable, along with experience operating fleets of devices across multiple geographies and carriers. We are open to candidates from a range of backgrounds – networking, platform, SRE, DevOps, embedded Linux, telematics – what matters is strong networking fundamentals paired with a tooling‑first mindset.
Responsibilities
* Own and evolve Dexory's fleet connectivity stack (mesh VPN, routers, Wi‑Fi, cellular) with a tooling‑first, automation‑led approach so we scale with the fleet, not headcount.
* Build internal tooling and self‑serve workflows for router configuration/validation, access management, and fleet health checks; replace manual processes with repeatable, testable systems.
* Operate the mesh VPN layer (WireGuard/Tailscale or equivalent): access‑as‑code, policy patterns, posture/health automation, and resilience/disaster recovery planning.
* Deliver fleet‑wide connectivity observability: monitoring, alerting, reporting, and actionable signals that help teams diagnose end‑to‑end issues quickly.
* Improve cellular/SIM lifecycle management: provisioning automation, usage/cost visibility, and carrier‑level reporting.
* Enable deployments with pre‑deployment network validation and simple site survey workflows that field teams can run independently.
* Partner with deployment, service, and customer‑facing teams to turn field issues into durable tooling and documentation, not recurring manual fixes.
* Strong networking fundamentals (routing, NAT, firewalls, DNS, VPNs, IPv4/IPv6) and experience operating production systems at scale; comfortable debugging multi‑layer failures.
* Comfortable working close to the Linux networking stack when needed (interfaces, routing tables, MTU/PMTUD, conntrack, nftables/iptables) and diagnosing kernel‑level networking behaviour.
* Proficient in Go and/or Python and experienced with modern observability tooling; bonus points for containers/IoT OS, ACL‑as‑code patterns, and carrier/router API integrations.
