Summary
**Important notice**
In line with our redeployment policy, we’ll prioritise applications from National Trust employees who are under formal notice of redundancy.
We are looking for a Cycle Hire Assistant to support Ickworth's thriving Cycle Hub. Alongside the Active Outdoors Co-ordinator, you’ll give a friendly welcome and information and advice about cycle hire. You’ll make sure everyone who visits has an enjoyable and memorable time.
For this role, you’ll need to complete our online assessment instead of using a C.V. or online application form. This will help us understand more about your strengths and give you more information on the role.
What it's like to work here
In this role you’ll report to the Property Operations Manager and be supervised by the Active Outdoors Development Co-ordinator. The wider team includes the Welcome Team and a group of passionate and experienced Active Outdoors volunteers.
The Cycle hire is open Thursday to Sunday in the main season (February Half term - October Half term), and every day in the Suffolk school holidays. On average you'll work approx. 7.5-15 hours a week, however more in the school holidays and regular weekends and bank holidays.
What you'll be doing
Your daily duties will vary from answering people's queries and advising them on which trails would be best for them, to preparing, maintaining and hiring out the equipment.
It's all about giving a great service to everyone. You'll talk to people, giving them the right information, and you'll also listen to them so you know what they need and what their concerns might be. Your day is all about helping as many people as possible to have a great day in the outdoors.
You can view the full role profile for this role in the document attached. You don't need to have all of the knowledge, skills and experience listed in the role profile; this is just to provide a full picture of what’s possible in this role.
