You will be joining a forward-thinking Waste Management Service,mitted to delivering high-quality waste operations andpliance across multiple sites. The team is focused on innovation, safety, and excellent customer service.
Your new role
As a Waste Management Technician, you will play a key role in supporting operational andpliance functions. Your responsibilities will include:
1. Handling low-level customerplaints (face-to-face, phone, email).
2. Using MS Office (Excel, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint) for data entry, reporting, and presentations.
3. Assisting with supervision of low/medium value waste-related contracts.
4. Supporting development of Health & Safety and Quality Management systems.
5. Delivering training packages and assisting operatives with online learning.
6. Assisting with recruitment processes.
7. Operating weighbridge systems (training provided).
8. Managing stock control and ordering.
9. Wearing PPE and Body Worn Camera (reasonable adjustments considered).
This is a technical role, requiring strong Excel skills and the ability to quickly learn software packages such as Weighbridge systems, H&S incident recording software, and waste management data systems. Technical skills may be tested at interview.
The base will be Whetstone/ Hybrid, with flexibility for home working subject to performance. Attendance at Whetstone and other local sites is vital. Both full-time and positions are available.
What you'll need to succeed
Essential:
10. Strong IT skills and proficiency in MS Office.
11. Good interpersonal,munication, numeracy, and literacy skills.
12. Experience dealing with customers and delivering training.
13. Valid UK driving licence (up to tonnes), own vehicle, and business insurance.
Desirable:
14. Certificate of Technicalpetence (WAMITAB CoTC Level 4 or above).
15. Knowledge of waste management, localernment processes, and waste legislation.
16. Experience in project planning, technical support, budget monitoring, and operating plant (Loading Shovel, Telehandler, FLT, JCB).
