Job description
We are recruiting on behalf of our service user who requires a Care Assistant. The role is for 12 hours per week, Monday to Friday between 10.30am and 2.30pm with the potential for additional hours. Each working day will involve one continuous visit rather than multiple short visits. Due to the personal care element of this role, the employer will be considering female applicants only. Responsibilities
* The Care Assistant will assist with daily rehabilitation tasks, physio exercises, food preparation, laundry, light household duties, and necessary errands to enable the employer to live their personal and social life.
* Responsibilities include supporting social activities such as keeping in touch with family and friends, attending medical appointments, accompanying the employer to hobbies including dog walking, yoga, and physio, and providing lifts during the day.
* Personal care will involve assistance in the bathroom with transfers and hand washing, as well as supporting physiotherapy exercises which are part of daily routines.
* Domestic duties include light cleaning, laundry, ironing, changing linen, and meal preparation, which may vary from day to day.
Skills and Qualifications
Essential Skills
* The ideal candidate must have a full driver’s licence, be comfortable around a small to medium sized dog, and have the ability to build a supportive relationship based on trust and respect.
Desirable Skills
* An understanding of brain injuries, particularly traumatic brain injuries, would be an advantage.
