Role:
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Procurement Officer to join Salford City Council’s Procurement Team. As a Procurement Officer, you will support the Category team whilst leading on your own portfolio of procurement projects across a range of category areas.
Duties will include;
1. Leading on delivery procurement activity for the Council as directed by the Senior Procurement Manager
2. Supporting Category Managers in the development of category strategies
3. Providing advice on options appraisals, tendering strategy, evaluation, and management of contracts
4. Ensuring compliance to all relevant procurement policies and procedures
5. Assisting in the delivery of the social value agenda
6. Leading on day-to-day operational tasks
7. Developing and managing cost down exercises
8. Continuously seek improvements in effectiveness, value for money and quality procurement
Person:
The successful Procurement Officer:
9. Experience procuring both goods and services in either a Public or Private Sector environment
10. Working towards CIPS is desirable
11. Stakeholder management experience
12. Ability to manage multiple projects at once
