Job Title: Waste Resource Management Driver C Location: Antrim Salary: £14.13 per hour plus 18.5% Waste Allowance (£16.74 per hour including allowance) Working Hours: 37 hours per week Working Pattern: 4 days out of a rolling 7-day rota, including alternate weekends Shift Pattern: 06:00am – 3:45pm shifts Duration: Temporary contract – up to 3 months Start Date: ASAP Application Deadline: Thursday 28 May 2026 at 12:00 Noon About the Role: On behalf of our client, Apple Recruitment Services are delighted to be recruiting a Waste Management Driver C to support the delivery of waste management, recycling, and environmental cleansing services throughout the Borough. The successful candidate will be responsible for operating waste collection vehicles, supervising crew members, and ensuring waste services are delivered safely and efficiently in accordance with Council standards. Key Responsibilities: • Operate waste collection vehicles safely and efficiently • Supervise and support crew members during daily operations • Carry out vehicle inspections, maintenance checks, and defect reporting • Ensure routes and service schedules are completed to required standards • Complete waste collection, recycling, and environmental cleansing duties • Assist with Household Recycling Centre operations and bulky waste collections • Maintain records and complete associated paperwork and reporting • Ensure compliance with health & safety and traffic management procedures • Assist with gritting and snow clearance duties during severe weather • Deliver excellent customer service and communicate effectively with the public and colleagues Essential Criteria: • Valid CE driving licence • Hold a valid CPC Licence / Driver Qualification Card • Minimum of 2 years’ experience operating with a Category C licence • Strong organisational and communication skills • Ability to work independently and as part of a team • Computer literacy sufficient to use TMS/GPS systems • Knowledge of health & safety procedures and waste management operations • Willingness to undertake a Driver Assessment Desirable Criteria: • Previous waste management experience • Experience driving refuse collection vehicles • Experience operating HGV mechanical sweepers • Traffic management knowledge How to Apply: If you wish to apply or would like more information, please email your CV in Microsoft Word format to Julie at julie.skelly@applerecruitment.com Applicants should ensure their CV is accurate and up to date, including full employment history, licences, and qualifications.
