Responsibilities
1. People Management: Take responsibility for all aspects of service delivery, lead Occupational Therapy/support staff, cover for absences, deputise for team leads, support triage, manage waiting lists, attend meetings, delegate work, and support colleagues during caseload pressures.
2. Team Coordination and Supervision: Coordinate daily activities, supervise workloads, conduct line management meetings and appraisals, support staff development, and participate in recruitment and induction processes.
3. Professional Development: Support staff and colleagues' knowledge development, provide training, facilitate learning opportunities, supervise students, and act as a preceptor when appropriate.
4. Service User Education and Advocacy: Educate service users and carers about deficits affecting safety and independence, and support them through assessments and recommendations for aids, adaptations, and equipment.
5. Resource and Equipment Management: Assess and prescribe aids and adaptations, manage equipment, ensure safety and compliance, and handle equipment and stock responsibly.
6. Financial and Administrative Responsibilities: Manage budgets within delegated limits, handle service user valuables following policies, and maintain accurate records in line with standards.
7. Clinical Practice: Manage complex caseloads, conduct assessments, plan and evaluate interventions, and ensure safety and confidentiality in all activities.
8. Discharge and Feedback: Facilitate timely discharges, use outcome measures, and gather service user feedback.
9. Compliance and Personal Development: Follow policies, manage time effectively, maintain professional standards, and pursue ongoing learning and statutory training.
