Job Description
* Manage opportunities from prequalification through contract award.
* Identify value propositions and win themes.
* Develop winning commercial strategies.
* Ensure quality, technical and price submissions.
* Conduct contract review, risk management, clarifications and customer interviews.
* Maintain full responsibility for bid quality and maximise technical and commercial marks.
* Deliver compliant and commercially sound bids on time.
* Target and analyse leads to align bidding activity with group strategy and backlog goals.
* Act as senior point of contact for customer procurement and key partners throughout the bid process.
* Challenge design/estimating teams to add value to bids.
* Ensure best value from the supply chain.
* Manage bid qualification processes and recommend go/no‑go decisions.
* Coordinate inputs from design, project delivery and other stakeholders.
* Develop and structure an industry‑leading proposals team.
* Prepare and review commercial aspects of bids, ensuring all services are priced.
* Provide key input into business strategy and development.
* Manage the department budget and resolve complex technical, strategic and business issues.
* Implement continuous improvement, post‑bid reviews, and post‑contract award handover to delivery teams.
* Support business development through client meetings and presentations.
* Review and improve bid procedures and governance processes.

Candidate Requirements
Essential
* Minimum 5 years of proven capability in delivering successful bids for major construction projects in the industrial sector.
* Background in the UK water sector and experience of bid management from opportunity identification through bid submission.
* Demonstrable track record of opportunity identification, win strategies, commercial strategies, and solution design.
* Full knowledge of the competitive marketplace.
* Excellent presentation and customer‑facing ability.
* Exceptional commercial intuition and risk management skills.
* Ability to manage complex, multi‑workstream opportunities.
* Experience implementing or improving processes and procedures for efficient working.
* Degree in Engineering or Quantity Surveying.
* Minimum experience: 5 years.
* Minimum qualification: Level 7 (including Diploma & Ordinary Bachelor Degree).
Desirable
