Tutor
Location: KT1, Kingston upon Thames
Start Date: ASAP
Contract: Full time
We are seeking qualified and experienced Tutors to work in the KT1 area, supporting pupils who require additional academic and/or SEN support. This role is ideal for confident practitioners who can plan and deliver engaging, tailored learning sessions to help pupils make progress and re-engage with education.
The Role:
• Deliver 1:1 or small group tutoring sessions in core subjects (English, Maths, and/or wider curriculum)
• Plan and adapt lessons to meet individual learning needs and abilities
• Support pupils with gaps in learning, SEN needs, or EHCP targets
• Build positive relationships to encourage engagement and confidence
• Track progress and provide feedback to schools, SENCOs, or case managers
• Create a supportive, structured, and motivating learning environment
• Work with pupils in home, school, or alternative provision settings (as required)
What We’re Looking For:
• Qualified Tutor / QTS / HLTA / relevant teaching or tutoring qualification (essential)
• Experience delivering tuition or teaching in mainstream, SEN, or alternative provision settings
• Strong subject knowledge in core curriculum areas
• Ability to engage and motivate learners with varying needs and abilities
• Experience supporting SEN or disengaged learners (desirable)
• Excellent communication and behaviour management skills
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
