Highly Specialist Physiotherapist - Palliative Care
We are seeking an experienced senior specialist palliative care Physiotherapist to work within the Community Specialist Palliative Care service at Cheshire and Wirral Partnership NHS Foundation Trust. The post is based at Custom House with Ellesmere Port West CCT, part‑time (28 hours per week). You will work collaboratively with Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists, Therapy Assistants and Clinical Nurse Specialists across the neighbourhood care group, including inpatient and outpatient settings at the Good Shepherd Hospice and Living Well Centre.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will lead the provision of specialist palliative therapy and end‑of‑life rehabilitation to patients with malignant or non‑malignant conditions who have a limited life expectancy. Responsibilities include
* Delivering therapeutic interventions in patients’ homes and at the hospice or Living Well Centre;
* Providing advice, education and support to patients, carers and other health care professionals;
* Promoting advanced care planning, managing complex end‑of‑life symptoms and ensuring integrated care needs are met;
* Sharing the team’s drive to develop the service and maintaining high standards of quality care.

Person specification
Qualifications
* Diploma or Degree in Physiotherapy
* Level 7 Masters study (attained or working towards)
* HCPC registration
* Member of the CSP
* Evidence of specialised and validated post‑graduate courses
Knowledge and Experience
* Specialist scientific and clinical knowledge of rehabilitation and community therapy practice
* Broad experience across orthopaedics, general medicine, respiratory, neurology and MSK physiotherapy
Experience
* At least 5 years post‑graduate experience, including rotational areas
* At least 2 years’ experience working within the community setting
* Previous leadership experience
