Residence Coordinator (Summer 2026)

Brighton University

Full Time/Fixed Term

EF Education First is seeking an enthusiastic Residence Coordinator to champion the welfare of international students at our vibrant summer school in Brighton. Your Role

EF Brighton University is looking for a responsible and energetic individual to join our Residence Team for summer 2026 as a Residence Coordinator. You’ll help create a safe, welcoming, and fun living environment for our international students while ensuring everything runs smoothly behind the scenes. This role provides a great opportunity for you to build your organisational and leadership skills in a supportive, team-focused environment. Responsibilities

1. Ensures the smooth running of the student residences
2. To ensure the residences provide a comfortable, safe living environment
3. To maintain EF policies, accreditation criteria and Golden Rules
4. To provide the highest level of customer service at all times
5. To help maintain ‘one team’, where the different departments liaise and interact effectively and efficiently
6. Allocates new bookings to residential accommodation
7. Assists customers with residence queries, ensuring prompt follow up and excellent customer service
8. Liaises with external suppliers where cleaning/maintenance issues are reported
9. Completes weekly occupancy statistics
10. Ensures allocation information sent to residence suppliers is accurate and on time
11. Prepares arrival & departure documents and provides keys for all arrivals
12. Follows up any welfare and disciplinary issues together with the Residence Manager and ensures sanctions are applied in line with EF’s residence rules and regulations
13. Assists with the training and supervision of temporary staff/interns
14. Participates in student intakes and first week chats
15. Shares emergency duty on a rota basis

Requirements

16. Given the on call nature of the position, a flexible, hands-on approach to nature & hours of work undertaken is essential
17. Familiar with Microsoft Office and CRMs (desirable)
18. Highly motivated, energetic, positive
19. Customer service orientated, friendly & approachable manner
20. Able to remain calm under pressure & to diffuse potentially difficult situations
21. Sensitive to needs of international students living away from home
22. Excellent communicator with students, colleagues, and external clients
23. Attention to detail, organised & thorough
24. All offers are subject to a clear enhanced DBS check and two references
25. Legally able to work in the UK at commencement of employment
