Job overview
This post is a replacement position to assist our existing consultant team with a busy specialist workload. It is a full‑time role (part‑time or job share arrangements can be considered). The post holder will be based at the Queen Victoria Hospital, East Grinstead, or remotely in accordance with RCPath guidelines. The role does not require covering clinical responsibilities outside the hours of the traditional working week and offers the flexibility to work from home where appropriate.
Main duties
The appointee will make a substantial contribution to the workload of the Histopathology service, including diagnostic cytopathology. The case load and case mix will be reviewed as part of consultant job planning and ongoing departmental management.
Responsibilities
Provide diagnostic reporting in the following specialities: Dermatopathology, Oral pathology, Head and neck pathology, and Maxillofacial pathology. Use digital histopathology reporting processes and workflow. Support activities and administrative duties as required by the consultant team.
Qualifications
* MBBS or equivalent medical degree at time of application
* Successful completion of FRCPath or equivalent at time of application
* Eligible for full registration with the General Medical Council and current license to practice
Clinical Experience
* Broad range of experience in cellular pathology with a sub‑specialist interest in dermatopathology and/or oral and maxillofacial pathology
* Experience of digital histopathology reporting processes and workflow

This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and a submission for Disclosure and Barring Service check is required.
Salary
£113,565 to £150,569 per annum pro rata for part time.
