National Account Manager - Grocery
Looking to step into your first National Account Manager role with P&L responsibility?
This role would suit a National Account Executive or Junior National Account Manager with exposure to UK grocery retail who’s ready to take ownership of accounts and progress into a full NAM role.
The Company
An established, award-winning frozen food manufacturer supplying major UK grocery retailers. The business is known for its private label frozen range and works closely with customers to develop new, on-trend products across meat, vegetarian and dairy.
They operate across the UK and Europe and offer a supportive environment with clear long-term progression.
The Role
You’ll manage a portfolio of leading UK grocery retail customers, likely to include Sainsbury’s, Waitrose and Marks & Spencer.
Working day to day with buying teams and internal NPD, Supply Chain and Finance teams, you’ll help grow the accounts while gaining hands-on experience of taking products from initial concept through to launch, with a strong focus on innovation and retailer led product development.
The role includes ownership of sales, margins and P&L, with support from the Head of Grocery as you develop into the position.
What You’ll Be Doing
* Managing and developing UK grocery retail accounts
* Building relationships with customer buying teams
* Owning sales performance, forecasts and promotions
* Working with NPD teams on new product development
* Tracking performance, costs and competitor activity
What We’re Looking For
* Experience as a National Account Executive or Junior NAM
* Exposure to UK grocery retail customers
* Background in chilled or frozen food preferred
* Commercially minded and keen to take on responsibility
* Well organised and confident working with customers
Package
* £50,000 – £55,000 salary
* 20% bonus
* Company car or £5,400 car allowance
* Full benefits package
Location
Home based role, with regular customer meetings and one day per week at the South Wales head office.
