Consequently, we have an opportunity for a Building Estimator to join our team based out of Lympne, Kent.
The role:
1. Analyse tender documentation and capture client’s requirements.
2. Produce an accurate BOQ for pricing purposes to reflect client’s requirements, based on a robust knowledge of CESSM 3, Highways Method of Measurement or SMM7.
3. Clear knowledge of costing traditional and design and build contracts.
4. Prepare material and sub-contractor enquiry documents.
5. Carry out site visits, assimilate information, and consider it in tender pricing.
6. Assess individual rates and prices, create new or insert from sub-contract and material quotes.
7. Produce accurate and competitive commercial submissions for internal review and approval.
8. Work with NEC3 and JCT Conditions of Contract, current HSQE legislation, and construction techniques and methods.
9. Attend pre and post tender meetings.
10. Understand building material components and plant requirements.
You will have:
1. Minimum 3 years experience as an estimator.
2. Experience in commercial/industrial projects.
3. Good negotiation, influencing, and communication skills; well-spoken and personable.
4. Strong analytical and reasoning abilities.
5. Good organizational skills and attention to detail.
6. Highly numerate with the ability to manipulate numerical information accurately.
7. Confident and resourceful.
8. Self-motivated with the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
9. Drive a collaborative approach to ensure the best submission.
