Overview
Spectrum is a not-for-profit CIC committed to reducing health inequalities and improving health outcomes for the most disadvantaged within our community. We are a values-based organisation with the patient at the heart of what we do. We aim to achieve quantifiable impact and are looking for GPs who are committed to our cause to join us. We are looking for a salaried GP to join our MDT consisting of a variety of allied healthcare professionals (mental health workers, pharmacists, ANPs, etc.) to deliver a primary care clinic within HMP Forest Bank. A session consists of 8 appointments (15 minutes long) and are face to face. Presentations are as with community primary care as we are aiming to deliver ‘equivalence of care’ within our clinics. No prior prison experience is required as you will be given the training required for the role although prior experience is preferable.

Application and Additional Information
All GPs including the Lead GP are expected to support the general healthcare needs and basic clinical monitoring when the prisoners’ psychiatric condition is stable. We understand this can be daunting if you have no prior experience working in a prison clinic. We offer taster days for interested GPs and, for more information, a chance to speak to our GPs for advice and an honest discussion on the realities of the job. Please email Suesanne.samara1@nhs.net for further info. The welcome payment is payable to new candidates joining Spectrum Community Health CIC.
We aim to be flexible in matching your availability with our work patterns and the needs of the service; part-time and flexible working options are available.
