Job Overview
We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and compassionate HR/People Officer to support our Central IHC services at Royal Alexandra Hospital.
You will work alongside the People Business Partner to provide HR advice to a variety of clinical and non‑clinical managers and support our administration team. A travel component across North Wales is required.
The role is open to candidates who may not yet have the required level of experience but who demonstrate a passion for HR, relish a challenge, or are seeking an entry point into the profession. Successful applicants under such circumstances will be subject to Annex 21 pay for a period of 24 months.
Main Responsibilities
* Act as first point of contact for HR matters and queries from employees and managers.
* Support managers with ER cases including Sickness and Attendance Management, Disciplinary, Performance and Conflict Resolution.
* Attend formal meetings and hearings providing advice and case options, including co‑delivering in‑house training on Conflict Resolution, Performance Management and Attendance at Work.
* Proactively resolve ER case numbers and support managers during hearings.
* Assist in developing and delivering training to managers.
Person Specification
Essential
* Working towards Associate CIPD qualification or already CIPD Level 5 qualified, with evidence of on‑going CPD.
* Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience.
* Experience providing advice and support to managers and staff on all HR aspects without day‑to‑day supervision.
* Experience of advising managers through investigations and disciplinary hearings.
* Up‑to‑date knowledge of employment law and good employment practice.
* Extensive experience of advising on complex, sensitive employee relations issues, including writing management statements and advising at formal hearings.
* Experience coordinating multiple workplace activities (e.g., ER case work).
* Commitment to partnership working; knowledge of the current HR agenda in the NHS; experience working in a complex, busy, large‑scale business.
Desirable
* Associate CIPD qualified.
* Post‑graduate level of study.
* Coaching qualification.
* NHS experience.
* Experience of undertaking job evaluations, managing organisational change, redundancy and TUPE.
* Line management experience.
* Experience of policy review and development; ability to deliver training on ER topics.
* Ability to speak Welsh (desirable).

* Strong communication, persuasive and negotiation skills.
* Ability to coach managers on HRM practices.

Salary and Working Conditions
Remuneration will be determined within the Band 5 pay scale based on qualification, skill and experience. The role is full‑time and may involve travel across North Wales.
