Job Description: IT Network & Telecommunications Administrator
Salary: £36,000 - £48,000 per annum (depending on experience)
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8.30am - 5.30pm (40-hour week)
Location: Southampton office based

Purpose of the Role Responsible for managing technology efficiently using tools and scripting. Organizes, leads, and coordinates with other IT departments to ensure system components are effectively managed.
Designs and develops complex, integrated solutions to meet business needs or improve Garmin’s network and telecommunications systems
Performs cost analyses and vendor comparisons for projects to ensure cost-effective operations. Evaluates feasibility and makes recommendations
Continuously develops expertise on existing and emerging network & telecommunications technologies
Communicates effectively about system operations and changes
Ensures compliance with SOX, PCI, and other regulations
Monitors capacity, redundancy, and health of network & telecommunications systems
Ensures security requirements are met or exceeded
Uses standards and procedures proficiently
Communicates effectively in team settings
Aligns work with Garmin’s Mission Statement and Quality Policy
Mentors less experienced IT Administrators
Provides reliable solutions using problem-solving techniques, including root cause analysis
Performs minor system upgrades
Uses tools and scripting for efficient management
Makes recommendations for improvements
Identifies system interdependencies
Coordinates cross-team changes
Participates in system roadmap planning
Leads meetings with IT users
Adapts to change and welcomes feedback
Monitors security access levels
Education & Experience Bachelor’s Degree in a related field or 2 years relevant experience, or an equivalent combination
Ability to solve moderately complex technical problems independently
Experience in implementing technology solutions
Strong communication skills
Good documentation and organizational skills
Knowledge of IT Infrastructure, including Telephony: Avaya, SIP, Microsoft Teams Voice
