Do you have experience of working for a local authority in a Revenues environment at a supervisory level?
We have an excellent opportunity for an experienced team leader to join our Income Billing Team.You will be responsible for managing and leading a team of Income Billing Officers, dealing with all aspects of administering Council Tax, Non-Domestic Rates, Business Improvement District (BID), Sundry Income and overpaid Housing Benefit.
You will be:
* Ensuring an effective and efficient billing and collection process putting the customer at the heart of everything we do.
* Managing the workload and resource planning for the Billing Team to ensure work is completed accurately and promptly.
* Ensuring the production, implementation and documentation of new and existing procedures in line with legislation changes and government initiatives.
* Make decisions on complex and challenging cases and complaints
* Prepare and present cases to Valuation Tribunal as required
You will have:
* Experience of working in revenues environment for a local authority
* Experience of managing / supervising a team including planning, organising and co-ordinating work activities and resources
* Working knowledge of Council Tax, Business Rates, Sundry Income and overpaid Housing Benefit legislation and expert knowledge of at least one of these areas.
* Experience in resolving customer complaints and escalated enquiries
* Experience representing the Authority at Magistrates Court/County Court or Valuation Tribunal
