Overview
We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic and committed CAMHS Practitioners to join the Getting Advice Team Pathway in Doncaster within the Single Point of Access function. This is an exciting time to join our evolving service in the Getting Advice Pathway, where we are committed to improving access to mental health advice and support for children, young people, and their families. This will be a dynamic role involving triaging, assessment and formulation of young people and families, plus signposting and engagement with partner agencies to identify the most appropriate support at the most appropriate time. Applications are invited from qualified Registered Mental Health Nurses and Learning Disability Nurses, Social Workers and Occupational Therapists.
Current hours of work are Monday - Friday 9am - 5pm.
Main duties
* To provide individual support for young people, their families and carers within Getting Advice SPA to explore ways of improving mental health and well-being via effective screening and triaging of referrals
* To support the efficient management of referrals into CAMHS - including onward referral, signposting, support to access appropriate services and guidance
* Collection of relevant data to demonstrate effectiveness of service
* Management of potential crisis situations and effective risk assessment
Qualifications
Essential: A professional Nursing qualification or Occupational Therapist qualification or Social Work with current registration
Desirable: Further professional qualification relevant to role; Evidence of consistent pattern of learning from Education, training and experience.
Experience
Essential: Demonstrable post qualification experience, including experience of working with young people with complex mental health problems and working with children and families in particular; Experience of multi-disciplinary working; Understanding of patient centred assessment, care planning, implementation and evaluation with children, young people, parents and families using mental health nursing skills
Desirable: Evidence of data collection, management and audit experience
