Job Description:
AFC Wimbledon Women are looking to recruit a dedicated, self-motivated, and knowledgeable individual eager to work in women’s football at Tier 3, supporting elite female players.
We seek Chartered Physiotherapists, Sports Therapists, or Sports Rehabilitators to join our Medical department. The Medical Therapist plays a crucial role in our long-term vision.
The successful candidate will work with a Tier 3 women’s football club, providing physiotherapy and rehabilitation for all women’s team players, including occasional involvement with pathway players.
This role requires flexibility to work varied hours, including weekends, midweek sessions, and occasional overnight stays. It offers opportunities for internal CPD, staying current with literature, and enhancing practical skills.
Key Responsibilities:
* Provide emergency first aid during training and matches
* Conduct clinical assessments of injured players
* Maintain detailed injury and treatment records, uploading them to our platform
* Communicate regularly with coaches, S&C team, and players about injuries and player availability
* Participate in in-house CPD sessions
* Support junior therapists within the women’s pathway
* Ensure compliance with club policies, including health and safety, equality, safeguarding, and confidentiality
Qualifications:
* BSc degree in Physiotherapy, Sports Therapy, or Sports Rehabilitation
* HCPC/BASRaT/SST registration
* In-date EMFA qualification (and commitment to annual reaccreditation)
* Willingness to work with high-level athletes, managing injuries and rehabilitation
* Medical insurance suitable for semi-professional women’s footballers
* Ability to participate in football at a high level
* MSc in Physiotherapy, Sports Therapy, or Sports Rehabilitation (preferred)
