We need band 5 nurses to help us expand our pre-assessment service.
Pre-assessment is a vital part of our endoscopy service. Now we need to expand our workforce to ensure we are able to pre-assess more of our patients. As one of our pre-assessment nurses you will be holding outpatient nurse led clinics where you will assess patients' fitness for endoscopy, take consent for procedures and ensure patients are given all the correct information to prepare correctly for their procedure.
You will also be involved in ensuring in-patients are prepared, consented and informed for their endoscopy.
Additionally, you will help with a helpline to ensure any patient queries are dealt with. The role will also mean you will be involved in audits, surveys and ensuring the endoscopy units meet all the requirements for JAG accreditation.
A structured training programme will be in place to allow you to meet all the competencies required to carry out this role.
