The Opportunity
Join Arup’s Strategy Office and play a pivotal role in shaping the firm’s strategic direction. Working closely with the Executive Board, the Chief Strategy Officer, and COOs for Business & Markets and Performance & Operations, you’ll support the delivery and impact measurement of Arup’s corporate strategy. This global, internally focused role is designed to strengthen market insight capabilities and deliver strategic recommendations that guide key decisions across the firm.

Key Responsibilities
1. Deliver biannual strategy reviews and support strategic projects in collaboration with the Global Corporate Strategy Lead
2. Lead strategic analyses on market entry, growth, performance optimization, and transformation
3. Provide expertise in market sizing, competitive analysis, scenario planning, and ROI modelling
4. Support Board-level strategy initiatives and quarterly KPI reviews
5. Coordinate cross-functional teams and integrate diverse data sources into strategic recommendations
6. Manage external consultants and ensure alignment with internal expectations
7. Build and maintain a centralized knowledge base of market intelligence and strategic benchmarks
8. Collaborate with portfolio leaders to align business plans with global strategy
9. Develop tools and methodologies to grow Arup’s Market Insights function
10. Contribute to firm-wide initiatives including capability building and long-term strategic planning
Success Measures
11. Delivery of two strategy reviews and five strategic support projects annually
12. Strengthening of KPI frameworks and balanced scorecard processes
13. Development of internal and external networks to support strategic initiatives
Required Skills & Experience
14. Experience within strategy consulting or corporate strategy, ideally in a global context
15. Expertise in Arup’s core sectors: transport, energy, and property
16. Degree in business, economics, public policy, or related field
17. Strong analytical skills and experience with strategic modelling tools
18. Proven ability to manage multiple projects and communicate with executive stakeholders
