It is a very exciting time for our Maternity Services at Newham University Hospital Barts Health NHS Trust providing maternity care to women/birthing people and families from the local population and surrounding areas. Come and join our Maternity Immunisation team as we rise to meet the challenges of today’s changing maternity climate.
We are looking for an enthusiastic registered adult nurse to be a member of the Maternity Immunisation Team.
1. ·You will work with the team to provide a high standard of care and health promotion.
2. You will have excellent communisation skills to provide a welcoming, friendly and supportive service to the women, and to form good professional relationships within the team
3. You will be working alongside other Band 5 Nurses to deliver a friendly, safe and effective vaccination service for pregnant women.
4. You will administer Pertussis and Seasonal Flu, Respiratory Syncytial Virus (RSV) Vaccinations.
Main duties of the job
5. ·To contribute to the delivery of a high-quality public health programme for pregnant women & birthing people in Barts Health NHS Trust.
6. To take a pregnant person centred, public health approach to improve health and tackle inequalities, specifically to raise the uptake of maternal immunisations across Barts Health NHS Trust and the local community
7. To support the planning, implementation and evaluation of the immunisation programme delivery for pregnant women/birthing people within Maternity Services within the required targets.
8. To provide advice, information and promote the immunisation programme to pregnant women/birthing people.
9. To maintain and update electronic records and vaccine specific data bases.
10. To discuss and promote awareness to expectant women/birthing people of the BCG vaccination for all eligible babies.
