Graduate Solicitor Apprenticeship

Earn while you learn, gaining valuable experience from day one with no university or Solicitors Qualifying Examination (SQE) fees to pay, on our Graduate Solicitor Apprenticeship.

About the Graduate Solicitor Apprenticeship

Important information – Recent government adjustments to Level 7 funding stipulate that funding will only be accessible for apprentices who are 21 years old or younger at the start of their Level 7 apprenticeship. However, this change will not affect the apprenticeships offered at CMS. We remain dedicated to this pathway to qualification and will continue to recruit apprentices as we have in previous years.

Due to a shift in the educational delivery of the programme, we can now only exclusively offer the GSA to law graduates. However, we still encourage non-law graduates to apply for the training contract.

We offer comprehensive career development, support and learning experiences across multiple practice groups within our dynamic law firm environment.

Our programme begins with targeted pre-joining events and a comprehensive induction helping to embed you into the firm from day one.

On the Graduate Apprenticeship programme, lasting a minimum of 36 months, you will complete your SQE at the University of Law. One day per week will be dedicated to your study, with the remainder of your week spent working at CMS.

We will ensure that you become fully immersed into the business, through gaining valuable, practical experience across many of our practice groups as well as providing you with world-class training and development opportunities.

You will have the opportunity to learn and work at the same time on your path to becoming a fully-qualified solicitor.
