Job Summary

Job Title: Senior Residential Support Worker
Location: Meadow Brook Children’s Home –Leyland
Hours: 40.5 hours per week
Salary: £30,500 - £34,100 (depending on experience and qualifications) *
Earnings: £34,125 - £37,725 (based on 7 sleep ins per month)
Shift Pattern: 1 shift on, 2 shifts off
Annual Leave Entitlement: 251.1 hours

The Role
We’re looking for a Senior Residential Support Worker to join our dedicated team at Spring Meadow Children’s Home. This is a brand new, three-bedroom home opening in Leyland. This role is perfect for someone with at least 12 months’ experience in a children’s residential home, who is passionate about making a real impact. Working alongside an experienced and supportive management team, you’ll play a key role in creating a positive, nurturing home environment where young people feel safe, supported, and empowered.

Key Responsibilities

1. Support young people in a range of activities, including cooking, cleaning, outings, and taking part in games and appointments.
2. Manage challenging behaviours effectively and professionally, with support from senior staff and therapeutic services.
3. Create a safe, supportive, and nurturing environment for young people, ensuring they feel heard and valued.
4. Collaborate with psychologists and the therapy team to establish appropriate boundaries and strategies for supporting the children in your care.

5. A genuine passion for safeguarding, motivating, and inspiring young people.
6. Ability to demonstrate and lead by example, sharing best practices with your team.
7. Experience with challenging behaviour, with the ability to handle such situations calmly and professionally.
8. Flexibility to work shifts, including evenings, weekends, and sleep-ins.
9. Experience of working in a residential home for children is essential for the role (minimum of 12 months experience) having a relevant qualification is advantageous, although not essential. Please note, Hexagon Care Services does not hold a sponsorship licence and as such we are unable to support any candidates who do not already have right to work. This is a permanent position, if you have right to work but with an expiry date, we are more than welcome to receive your application but please note you would only be eligible for an interim contract linked to your RTW expiry.
