An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Quantity Surveyor to come and join a busy client in the Manchester area.
The main duties of the experienced Quantity Surveyor are:
Manage all aspects of cost planning, estimation, and financial control for highways projects
Prepare tender documentation, bills of quantities, and contract specifications
Evaluate contractor tenders and provide recommendations for award
Administer contracts in line with NEC or similar frameworks
Monitor project budgets, forecasts, and expenditure, ensuring value for money
Assess and certify interim payments, variations, and final accounts
Provide commercial advice to project managers and stakeholders
Identify and manage commercial risks and opportunities
Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, policies, and procedures
Support continuous improvement and efficiency initiatives within the highways service
The suitable candidate will have experienced in:
Degree or equivalent qualification in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management, or related discipline
Proven experience in quantity surveying, ideally within highways or civil engineering projects
Strong knowledge of contract management, particularly NEC contracts
Excellent analytical, negotiation, and communication skills
Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines
Proficiency in relevant software and financial management systems
