What began with small case taping machines has evolved into a leading international supplier of complete end-of-line packaging systems.The RoleAs a Mechanical Fitter, you'll be responsible for assembling machinery and mechanical sub-assemblies to a high standard while supporting production schedules and quality requirements.You will work closely with the wider production team to ensure all machinery is built accurately, safely, and efficiently.Key ResponsibilitiesReading and interpreting detailed mechanical assembly and pneumatic drawingsBuilding and assembling bespoke machinery and specialist sub-assembliesCarrying out mechanical and pneumatic assembly work to a high standardRunning field wiring in preparation for electrical fittersConducting inspections of returned machinery and identifying faultsCarrying out repairs, replacements, and mechanical adjustments where requiredTesting machinery and components to ensure correct operationWorking to production schedules and agreed build timelinesMaintaining high standards of health & safety and housekeepingAbout YouWe're looking for someone with strong mechanical assembly experience who enjoys working within a fast-paced engineering and manufacturing environment.Essential Skills & ExperiencePrevious experience in mechanical assemblyExperience building bespoke or special purpose machineryStrong ability to read and interpret engineering drawingsGood problem-solving and fault-finding skillsStrong attention to detail and commitment to qualityGood communication skillsAbility to work independently and as part of a teamComfortable working to deadlines and production schedulesHealth & Safety consciousBasic IT skills including Word and OutlookDesirableNVQ / BTEC qualification or equivalent engineering qualificationElectrical machine wiring experiencePneumatics knowledge and experienceAdditional InformationThis role is fully site-based at our Biggleswade manufacturing facility.Specialist equipment will be provided, although candidates are expected to provide their own hand tools wherever possible.Apply Today!If you're a skilled Mechanical Fitter looking to join a growing engineering business with a strong reputation for quality and innovation, we'd love to hear from you.No agencies please.TPBN1_UKTJ
