We have opportunities within Obelisk and Southfields Care Home, which is rated GOOD by CQC, providing exceptional support to older persons living with dementia, physical disabilities, or sensory impairments.

Situated in a residential suburb in Northampton, the home offers a wonderful living environment where residents can enjoy an enhanced quality of life. Our customers (residents) are at the heart of what we do. You will receive continuous training and support. Most of your team have grown organically within WNC, demonstrating a genuine enjoyment for their roles and the support they offer to our customers.

This role is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and is subject to an enhanced DBS check. It is a regulated activity and will also require a check against the Children and Adults Barred List. What will you be doing?
* Work closely with the management and support team to oversee daily shift operations.
* Manage a team of staff, overseeing induction, training, ongoing development, and performance management.
* Prioritize and delegate workload, ensuring issues are addressed promptly, and the health, safety, and welfare of customers and staff are maintained.
* Assist with updating care plans based on changing customer needs.
* Order, monitor, and administer medication safely and appropriately.
* Provide practical, personal, and emotional care and support to residents with diverse health and social care needs.
* Support residents in maintaining or developing social networks and interests, organizing activities as needed.
* Always treat residents with kindness, respect, and compassion to foster happiness and contentment.
* Maintain sensitivity and discretion in all communication, respecting data protection standards.
* Demonstrate understanding of equal opportunities and address the behavioral, physical, social, and welfare needs of individuals.
* Shift patterns include 8 or 12-hour shifts, with a mix of early and late shifts, and alternate weekends.
About you

You may be a senior carer seeking a permanent move or a current shift lead looking to develop further. With experience in care leadership and NVQ Level 2 in Health & Social Care (preferred), you will contribute to the management and development of the service, planning for future needs and resource requirements.

You will promote a customer voice in service delivery, encourage advocacy, and understand relevant legislation and regulations, including CQC standards. We offer a comprehensive induction and buddy scheme to support your integration into the team.

This role is also subject to an enhanced DBS check at our cost. We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and vulnerable adults, and expect all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.
