About the Role
We've got a unique opportunity for a Commercial Manager to join us, influencing RVU’s ambitious growth plans for annual insurances beyond our core product lines. Building on significant success over the last two years, you’ll join a high-performing team who are dedicated to delivering innovative customer experiences and strong performance against targets.
You'll be a key player within the cross-functional team, ensuring we continue to develop and deliver on a critical element of our broader business strategy. You'll also have regular interaction with key stakeholders across our Product, Marketing, and Commercial teams, as well as managing relationships with third-party partners.
What you'll be doing:
1. Implementing Strategic Plans
* You’ll proactively implement the product strategy, coordinating and collaborating on initiatives across Marketing, Product, and Commercial teams, as well as third-party relationships.
* We'll look to you to ensure clear ownership of operational initiatives within the cross-functional team and manage effective coordination and implementation.
* You’ll collaborate with key stakeholders to identify, quantify, and implement growth opportunities.
2. P&L Management & Forecasting
* You’ll contribute to high-quality weekly trading meetings, ensuring you/colleagues have a deep understanding of your area and are constantly challenging the business to improve.
* You'll be aiming to exceed business performance targets (as measured in financial results, strategic KPIs, and customer outcomes) that achieve our business strategy.
* You'll be the 'go-to person' for understanding and communicating results, impacts, variances, analysis, and business cases.
* You’ll own and manage budgeting and forecasting alongside the Finance team, including setting detailed assumption-based budgets and delivering regular, rational forecast updates (“pacing”).
3. Leading Cross-Functional Execution
* You’ll strike the right balance between enabling teams to realise the strategy while troubleshooting
* You’ll take ownership of the execution of your strategy: identifying problems, raising and mitigating risks, and finding solutions across people, process, and technology.
* You'll limit work in progress for the organisation by prioritising the most impactful initiatives.
* You’ll evangelise and educate your colleagues and stakeholders on the strategy.
* You’ll ensure that your Product, Marketing, and Commercial colleagues’ objectives reflect your strategic and commercial goals.
What we're looking for
* Financial Acumen & P&L Management: Proven ability to manage product P&Ls against agreed budgets.
* Commercial Analysis: Expertise in describing and quantifying impacts of market, competitor, and product changes on trading performance.
* Structure & Organisation: Ability to bring energy, organisation, and structure to complex, cross-functional operational and strategic plans.
* Stakeholder Communication: Outstanding communication skills for tailoring messages and clearly articulating strategic rationale to internal and external stakeholders.
* Strategic Prioritisation: Strong ability to act as a strategy advocate with a clear view on the relative value of different pieces of work to ensure effective prioritisation.
* Insight Generation: A strong appetite for finding novel insights by applying critical thinking and deep analysis across available data assets.
* Execution Focus: A bias to action and the ability to efficiently 'get stuff done' to drive measurable results.
