Job Title: Coffee Shop Manager (Full time)

Location: Leeds, Woodhouse

About Us:
Cup of Kin is a coffee shop nested in a converted horse trailer. We serve specialty coffee while creating warm connections with our community. As we expand, we are looking for a responsible and passionate individual to manage operations and help keep our café #wholesomevibes experience at its best.

Position Summary:
We are facing an exciting expansion to open our coffee shop on permanent basis in Leeds Woodhouse. Cup of Kin originally being an events company, this new expansion is truly exciting. The primary purpose of our coffee shop is to create community wherever we go to, now we can exercise this purpose on daily basis at this new opening.

This expansion brings a new opportunity to join the team as a Coffee Shop Manager, a role which requires a holistic management of the coffee shop. The job role involves, but it is not limited to: managing daily operations, stock management, marketing and café-events planning, overseeing financial development of the business.

This role also involves regular reporting to the shop owner by frequent communication and attendance of meetings. Any issues like event staffing, event profitability forecasts or any problems that might arise should be communicated to the owner and resolved together.

At Cup of Kin out top priority is customers experience #wholesomevibes. This role involves placing customer at the core of every action, that is while holding customer facing role during service and also while organising and planning.

This role is based in Woodhouse in Leeds and the opening times will be dictated by university term times. This means, the location will be closed during Christmas break and Summer Holidays. However Cup of Kin continues to be events company and during this period working hours can be picked up by attending events.

This is not brick and mortar location, the operations of this coffee shop will be held from the converted horse trailer, located permanently in Woodhouse, Leeds

Key Responsibilities:

· Maintain on brand Cup of Kin

· Operation and service of the coffee trailer on daily operations.

· Maintain excellent customer service and resolve any on-site customer issues professionally.

· Prepare and serve coffee and other menu items.

· Manage cash handling, POS transactions, and daily sales reporting.

· Ensure cleanliness, organization, and maintenance of the trailer and equipment o

· Adhere to food hygiene, health and safety regulations at all times.

· Monitor and manage inventory levels; place orders, collect orders or inform the owner when stock needs replenishing.

· Maintain daily operations of our social media, maintain communication with our social media Team.

· Organise events at our coffee shop, for example: Mental Health Wednesdays, Mothers Morning Club, Nomad-in-Leeds- meet- up.

· Oversee rota for part-time staff and contact the owner if required.

· Oversee the coffee standards across the baristas team.

· Have your input to seasonal drinks menu, operational suggestions, address financial clues and marketing suggestions.

· Maintain relationships with partners, suppliers.

· Communicate regularly with the owner about operations, issues, and improvements.

Training Available

- Level 3 Food Safety Training

- Gas Safety Training

- Coffee training

- Manual Handing

Ideal Candidate- friendly, caring, community focused, welcoming personality,highly organised, customer focused, Confident barista, Communication Skills.
Ability to lone working and maintain good relationships with customers. Basic understanding of food hygiene and safety standards.
Someone who appreciates routine during school term- time and needs a little more flexibility during holidays.

Hours:
A range of 34h to 48h in university term time. Shop opening Monday to Friday (8am to 3pm) and Saturday (9am to 2pm).

Café will be closed during Christmas and Summer Break, during this time you are welcome to pick up event shifts. The Shop Manager is not required to attend events.

Benefits:

-Hourly Rate £13.00
(This is subject to a maximum of 3 months provisional period at rate of £12.60. During this period the candidate will be trained to hold a full position)
