Role Overview: As an IPC Specialist, you will play a crucial role in our mission to create a safer healthcare environment. You will work as an active part of the IPC team and provide cover to site teams as necessary, ensuring seamless integration and support across all clinical settings. Main duties of the job

4. Maintain an effective educational environment through coaching and staff development related to IPC.
5. Work as an active part of the IPC team and provide cover to site teams as necessary.
6. Provide strategic leadership for the implementation of the national IPC education framework.
7. Ensure seamless integration and support across all clinical settings.

Person specification

Education/ qualifications

Essential criteria

8. Requires NMC registration on any part of the NMC register.
9. Minimum of first degree and Post registration qualification in IPC or equivalent experience.
10. Mentorship in Practice or equivalent [Standards for Student supervision and Assessments (SSSA) Training.

Desirable criteria

11. Has obtained a master’s qualification or working towards.
12. CPD courses at master’s level relevant to the post in education or equivalent.

Experience

Essential criteria

13. Clinical nursing skills and experience gained in an acute environment at band 7, (minimum of 2 years at B7 within an IPC role).
14. Experience of leading improvement.
15. Experience of presenting in different forums.
16. Experience of presenting in different forums.

Desirable criteria

17. Project management course or equivalent experience.
18. Experience of publishing or presenting academic or improvement work.
19. Experience of chairing and agenda setting clinical or non-clinical forums.
20. Experience of writing policy or guidelines.

Skill's/knowledge/ abilities

Essential criteria

21. Evidence of having previously managed and delivered a project.
22. Excellent organisation and managerial skills.
23. Awareness of different management, leadership, cultures and personalities and recognises the need to adapt communication as appropriate.
24. Understanding of Microsoft Office applications.
25. Articulate with advanced written and verbal and electronic communication skills.

Desirable criteria

26. Experience in writing for publication.
27. Experience in project management.
28. Digital skills.
29. Competent in using Microsoft office and EPR
