We are seeking to appoint two Resident Graduate Assistants as an integral part of our joint boarding house team, which looks after around 100 boarders in a large, co-educational house.
About Ackworth School
Ackworth School, founded in 1779 by the Religious Society of Friends (Quakers), is a co-educational boarding and day school that maintains its ethos and traditions. It is non-selective, offering a broad education with small class sizes, and recently achieved an 'Excellent' rating in the FCI/EQI (February 2023). The Head is a member of both HMC and the Society of Heads.

The Role
The successful candidates will support the Head of Boarding to create a nurturing environment, working alongside Assistant House Parents and boarding tutors. Responsibilities include forming part of our weekend activity program, participating in evening and weekend shifts, and responding flexibly to arising needs to ensure consistent care.
Benefits and Conditions
* Accommodation within the boarding house, including rent and utilities, and meals during term time.
* Salary of £16,923, with an average of 40 hours per week over 34 weeks.
* Fixed-term contract from September 2025 to July 2026.

Candidate Profile
This role is ideal for recent graduates seeking experience with young people before pursuing teacher training or those considering a career change. Interest in sport is welcomed, and graduates with strengths in core academic subjects will also bring valuable skills for pupil support.
