About The Role:
The client seeks an experienced Veterinary Surgeon to join a progressive and esteemed three-site practice in Sunderland, Tyne and Wear.
This permanent position offers an opportunity to work across a modern hospital site for three days and a supportive branch practice for one day.
The role is ideal for a professional looking to enhance surgical skills and manage an evolving caseload within a friendly and clinically excellent team.
Role Highlights :
Full-time role: 4-day week
Mix of consults and surgery with 15-minute appointments
1 in 3 Saturday mornings only
No Sundays, no out-of-hours (MyVetNow covers all OOH from the hospital)
1-hour paid lunch break daily
Opportunities to develop your own surgical caseload
Support for certificate study and CPD development
About You:
The client requires a minimum of 2+ years’ experience in small animal practice.
Candidates should be confident in both consulting and surgery, keen to develop a caseload, and take ownership of cases.
An interest in surgery and/or exotic species is beneficial but not essential.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential for this team-oriented role.

About the Practice:
The practice comprises three well-equipped sites with a strong local reputation established over the past three years. The team of eight veterinary surgeons includes certificate holders in surgery and exotics, performing advanced procedures such as BOAS surgery, orthopaedics, and coloduodenal anastomosis. The practice benefits from a nearby referral centre, strong community ties, and a high exotic caseload, making it suitable for those interested in exotic species or pursuing a certificate.
