LOCATION: Flexible – Belfast or Salford base only
PROPOSED SALARY RANGE: £28,300‑£34,000 depending on relevant skills, knowledge and experience. The expected salary range for this role reflects internal benchmarking and external market insights.
PURPOSE OF THE ROLE
CRBA manages and connects the BBC’s Intellectual Property, strategic and business interests through expert negotiation, contracting and commercial deal‑making. It is comprised of multiple business teams embedded in Content (including Television, Radio & Music, Children’s & Education, Sport), News, Technology & Product, the Nations, plus a central CRBA team. The teams share many common business activities key to the commissioning, production and distribution of the BBC’s services and content. Also, the teams work with the BBC’s professional services including Finance, HR, Legal, Editorial Policy and Strategy. All CRBA colleagues are ‘agile workers’ and our expectation is that they will work an average of 2–3 days per week in BBC buildings.
The role sits within the CRBA Production & Events team (the UK team), supporting Commercial and in‑house production teams across the UK. This includes the Nations, Children & Education, News & Current Affairs, Radio 3, Orchestras, and major live BBC events such as the BBC Proms. Our work spans all platforms and outputs, providing comprehensive rights and business affairs support across a diverse range of productions.
YOUR KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND IMPACT
* Negotiate and contract a range of agreements, securing required rights and revenues while managing risks in line with BBC frameworks and policies.
* Provide clear advice to stakeholders on fees, contract terms, copyright clearances and compliance.
* Manage contracts and rights documentation, ensuring accurate creation, maintenance and administration of agreements and rights information.
* Identify and manage risks appropriate to the role across BBC content on television, radio and non‑linear services.
* Build collaborative working relationships across the BBC and with external partners, supporting a positive team culture aligned with BBC Values.
YOUR SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
* Experience of negotiations and/or dealing with difficult conversations.
* Manage a busy workload and demonstrate good attention to detail.
* Excellent communication skills with experience of effective working relationships with a range of people.
* Have analytical skills and able to simplify complex problems.
* Knowledge or experience in broadcast or digital media.
