People Advisor, Leeds

The primary remit of the People Advisor role, is to support the People Team in providing professional HR support, advice and guidance to employers and managers on all aspects of the employee life cycle.
Key responsibilities include
Prepare and process People Team documentations such as offer of employment letters, contracts of employment, contract changes, flexible working requests, maternity and paternity leave and exit interviews.
Provide guidance and support to managers on all aspects of employee relations including Absence Management, Disciplinary and Grievance issues, Performance Management and Terms & Conditions.
Guide and supports managers on short and long-term sickness absence cases including referrals to occupational health.
Support managers with recruitment and onboarding activities.
Contribute to the development of People Team Policies and Procedures and ensure that they are current and in line with employment legislation.
Advise and support managers on the interpretation and application of the People Team policies and procedures ensuring consistency and adherence.
Ensure the People Team inbox covered, and colleagues receive timely and accurate responses to their enquiries.
Utilise the HR Information System to efficiently access, input, and retrieve employee data for accurate and timely reporting.
Maintain and update the HR Information System and ensure data integrity in accordance with GDPR.
Lead the administration of the employee HAPI benefits and ensure a smooth onboarding and offboarding process.
Assist the People Team with the delivery of People Team projects including colleague engagement activities, such as Grocery Aid events, Diversity & Inclusion, Health & Wellbeing and Colleague Engagement Survey.
Support the weekly payroll, respond to payroll queries and liaise with payroll provider and finance for accurate payroll.
What we are looking for
Similar HR or People Team advisory experience is essential.
Manufacturing experience would be ideal, but not essential.
Experience of working in a fast-paced organisational environment would be advantageous.
A good knowledge of UK employment legislation and best practice is highly desirable.
Ideally CIPD qualified Level 5, or working towards it.
Experience of managing disciplinaries and grievances would be ideal.
Knowledge of payroll administration would be beneficial, but not essential
Comfortable using HR Systems as well as Microsoft Teams, Word Excel and Powerpoint.
This role is based at the Leeds site and offers hybrid working, working from home one day a week.
