St Luke's Hospice has an exciting opportunity for an experienced administrator to join our established Clinical Admin team, supporting our new Clinical Co-ordination Hub for Community, IPU, and Quality Teams, on a fixed-term basis for two years.
You will provide teams with a timely and comprehensive administrative service that enables them to deliver excellent patient care. A significant part of this role is telephone-based, so experience and comfort dealing with potentially anxious patients, families, and bereaved people are important.
You should have administrative/secretarial experience and have worked in a patient/customer-facing service environment. Experience in a clinical setting is highly desirable.
You will need to remain calm under pressure and manage stressful situations compassionately and professionally. Excellent organisational, communication, and IT skills are crucial for success in this role.
You should be able to work independently, organising your own workload daily, and be comfortable working flexibly as part of a team to respond to changing priorities in a rapidly evolving environment.
This is a part-time position of 24 hours, with the potential for additional hours to cover annual leave and other absences.
Successful candidates will be required to work 8-hour shifts, between 8:00 am and 8:00 pm, on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.
Main duties of the job
For further information regarding the main duties of this role, please see the attached Job Description.
We actively promote equality of opportunity for all, with the right mix of talent, skills, and potential, and welcome applications from a wide range of candidates, including those with criminal records. We select all candidates for interview based on their skills, qualifications, and experience. Having a criminal record will not necessarily bar you from working with us, depending on the nature of the position and the background of your offences.
We particularly encourage applications from candidates likely to be underrepresented in St Luke's workforce, including people from Black, Asian, and minority ethnic backgrounds, disabled people, and LGBTQ+ people.
Unfortunately, St Luke's Hospice Plymouth is unable to sponsor individuals to work in the United Kingdom.
