Join the Marine team in Operations Catchment Services to apply technical expertise in marine environments, modelling and data analysis to support evidence‑based decisions. The role is part of a national team of specialists working virtually, with occasional travel for national meetings.
Key Responsibilities
* Interpret monitoring data and model outputs to support environmental protection.
* Review complex reports and clearly communicate key issues to non‑technical audiences.
* Use data to inform water quality models.
* Summarise and communicate technical work and escalate challenges when needed.
* Provide timely answers to technical questions and support incident response duties, including incident management training and flexible arrangements.
* Build strong relationships across a dispersed team and with external partners.
* Use initiative to contribute to the work of the team and wider organisation.
Qualifications & Experience
* Experience in data analysis and, ideally, some knowledge of modelling software.
* Proficiency with tools such as Excel, Access, R, Power BI, GIS and specialist packages like Mike or Cormix.
* Knowledge of water quality and the marine environment is desirable.
* A degree (or equivalent) in a relevant discipline is expected; professional membership or progression towards it is a plus.
* Comfortable working in a virtual team and travelling for national meetings.
* Strong communication and teamwork skills, especially in a dispersed environment.
