About the Role
We are looking for a compassionate and skilled Community Mental Health Nurse to join our Substance Misuse Service in Moray. This role is central to supporting people on their recovery journey from drug and alcohol dependency, with a strong emphasis on trauma‑informed care.
You will work collaboratively with individuals, their families, and a multidisciplinary team to create safe, respectful, and empowering environments that promote healing and recovery.
What You’ll Do
You will provide holistic assessments and develop personalised care plans that recognise the impact of trauma and aim to build trust and resilience. Your work will include delivering evidence‑based interventions such as motivational interviewing and relapse prevention, supporting safe prescribing practices, and advocating for clients within statutory and voluntary networks. You will also play a key role in mentoring junior staff and contributing to service development.

A deep understanding of mental health and substance use, commitment to priority on dignity, choice, and collaboration, strong communication skills, adaptability, and a willingness to learn are essential. Experience in addiction services and trauma‑informed approaches is highly desirable. Must hold a valid UK driving licence and have access to a car.
