Freightserve recruitment are looking for an Air / Sea Operations Coordinator for a well-established Freight Forwarder based in the Slough, Berkshire area.
This role will be an integral part of our freight logistics team. Responsible for aspects of air & sea freight exports and imports and help to develop our in house freight forwarding department.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
* Coordinate and manage the full cycle of export and import shipments across multiple transport modes (air, sea).
* Completing MAWB & HAWB’s
* Negotiate rates with carriers and suppliers, ensuring the best possible prices and service levels.
* Provide accurate quotations and pricing for shipments.
* Organise and arrange collections and deliveries
* Handle all necessary documentation for customs clearance, compliance, and shipment tracking.
* Liaise with clients, carriers, and overseas agents to ensure smooth and timely delivery of goods.
* Arranging A-Z of export shipments globally
* Creating job file on in house system, keeping accurate and detailed records
* Develop effective relationships with customers and suppliers for an effective and efficient service and communicating with clients regarding their shipment progress
* Sending proof of exports/imports to clients
* Support and cover import processes
* Communicating with sales and operations team throughout the day
* Provide administration assistance to team
* Provide assistance throughout the business as and when required
* Answering phones
Experience/Skills required
* Experience in multimodal freight forwarding, with a focus on both export and imports
* Strong understanding of customs procedures and international shipping regulations.
* Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
* Ability to manage multiple shipments and deadlines simultaneously.
* Operational and sales (business development) experience is an advantage
* Excellent attention to detail and high level of accuracy
* ASM Sequioa and CDS knowledge
