Introduction

Join the team at Brighton & Hove Clinic as a Ward Clerk or Roster Administrator and enjoy a career where you will be valued and supported in everything you do.

Working alongside the multidisciplinary team, you will provide day-to-day administrative support for the wards, including updating service users information, managing the ward diary, updating service users timetables and minute taking.

As a Ward Clerk or Roster Administrator, you will be responsible for arranging meetings and typing up all correspondence and documentation.

You will be:

* Supporting the admin team with general administration and providing clerical and typing duties
* Using information technology to produce various documents and electronic information
* Managing, organising, and updating relevant data using database applications including an electronic rostering system
* Maintaining and updating filing and record‑keeping systems
* Updating information (primary nurse lists, ward posters, etc.)
* Answering and directing calls as required
* Assisting wards as required, e.g., typing duties, stationery, recording of service user medical appointments, liaising with the ward to ensure the ward diary/Shared Calendar entries are updated and correspondences are maintained


To be successful in this role, you will have:

* Knowledge of Microsoft Office programmes
* Excellent organisational and communication skills
* Ability to respond to changes in service and adapt to change
* Excellent interpersonal skills
* Ability to organise and prioritise own work within established procedures but refer more complex issues to the relevant manager

Communications will be with service users, as well as with other staff, and will regularly require some judgement, as information will need to be gathered to facilitate correct administrative records. The nature of the role means that the role holder may very occasionally be faced with some challenging situations.

Location: New Church Road, Hove BN3 4FH

Brighton & Hove Clinic provides a Children and Young People’s Mental Health Services (CYPMHS) Tier 4 Eating Disorder service for young people aged 12 up to 18 years with a primary diagnosis of eating disorder; or an eating difficulty with a co‑morbidity such as mental health or psychological issues, e.g., depression, OCD or anxiety or self‑harm.
