I'm working with a nationally recognised housebuilder to find a Senior Civil Engineer for one of their strongest performing regional offices, based in Birmingham. About the Role
You'll be based out of Nottingham, with responsibility across a portfolio of residential developments spanning West Midlands, Wolverhampton, Staffordshire, schemes ranging from smaller sites of 40 units through to larger sites of 450+ units. It's a hands-on, varied position where technical delivery and people development go hand in hand.
What You'll Be Involved In
You'll take the lead on civil engineering delivery across multiple live sites, managing Section 38 and Section 104 agreements from early stage through to adoption and coordinating design across the full development lifecycle. You'll liaise directly with Local Authorities, utility providers, and adoption bodies, while overseeing drainage strategies, highway layouts, and external works packages.
Alongside the technical side, you'll play an important role in mentoring and guiding a team of Civil Engineers, helping to raise standards and support the professional growth of those around you.
The Right Person
You'll bring solid residential development experience, ideally gained within housebuilding, with a strong working knowledge of Section 38 and 104 processes and adoption requirements. You'll be comfortable managing civil engineering elements across active construction sites and confident communicating with a range of stakeholders. A collaborative mindset and a genuine interest in developing others will go a long way here. Degree qualified in Civil Engineering or equivalent is required.
