Year 2 Teaching Assistant – Carlisle
Humly is recruiting a Year 2 Teaching Assistant to join a primary school on a long-term basis.
This is a full-time role starting 20/04/2026 and continuing until 17/07/2026. This position would suit a dedicated and reliable Teaching Assistant who can provide consistent classroom support during the final term of Key Stage 1, helping pupils prepare for their transition into Key Stage 2.
What You’ll Be Doing
* Supporting the class teacher with the delivery of lessons in a Year 2 classroom
* Assisting pupils with their learning across core subjects, including English and Maths
* Delivering small group interventions to support attainment and progress
* Providing one-to-one support where required, including for pupils with additional needs
* Encouraging positive behaviour and engagement in line with school policies
* Supporting classroom organisation and preparation of learning resources
What You’ll Bring
* Previous experience working as a Teaching Assistant or SEN Learning Support Assistant in a primary setting
* Strong understanding of Key Stage 1 learning expectations
* Confidence supporting phonics, literacy, and numeracy development
* Ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff
* Good behaviour management skills and a calm, patient approach
* A reliable and consistent work ethic for a long-term placement
Pay
£14.26+ per hour
