Your Role

We are seeking a dynamic and strategic Senior Marketing Operations Lead to join the global franchises team in the Contract Testing Services (CTS) business. In this role, you will work towards boosting commercial success by driving strategic initiatives and operational excellence across the CTS value streams. You will report directly to the Global Head of Franchises and will play a critical role in leading cross-franchise initiatives, improving marketing effectiveness, and transforming data into actionable insights that inform strategic decision-making. Collaborating closely with Sales teams, Operations, and Finance, you will address system challenges and unlock customer value while devising innovative methods to track revenue and profitability. Your Key Responsibilities

* Process Improvements & Marketing Operational Excellence
o Drive process improvements to enhance efficiency and scalability across the 4 value streams and build relevant trainings for adoption across the CTS org
o Standardize reporting, tracking, and governance across all 4 value streams
o Partner with Operations and Finance to resolve system roadblocks and deliver lean workflows to unlock customer value and revenue potential
* Cross-Franchise Projects and Strategic Analysis
o Lead cross-franchise initiatives (e.g., business segmentation, pricing harmonization, Salesforce campaigns) and program-manage complex projects (e.g., Annual Marketing Plan, SD market models).
o Build and own business cases for strategic growth initiatives (e.g., CTS digital offerings), deliver market sizing, competitor intelligence, and scenario modeling.
o Develop and maintain dashboards for revenue, profitability (CM/GM, EBIT), utilization, and customer diversification
o Consolidate data into decision-ready insights for CTS LT, regional reviews, and cross-VS reviews (e.g., quarterly/annual packs, ad-hoc analyses).
* Marketing & Commercial Enablement
o Track and optimize marketing initiative effectiveness; capture case studies and scale best practices (e.g., multi-VS Open Houses, Merck-wide CTS showcases).
o Support cross-VS launches and campaigns (e.g., Synetra, roadshows, CTS brand marketing).
o Partner with Commercial Operations to design sales enablement tactics.
o Manage client notifications (e.g., service updates, new offerings, process changes) and ensure cross-franchise branding, messaging consistency.

This role is preferred to be placed in Glasgow (UK), Darmstadt (Germany), Rockville (USA).


Who you are

* Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Science, Engineering or Business. Master's degree, MBA or PhD preferred.
* 5+ years of professional experience in commercial/marketing roles, preferentially in the Life Science and/or Pharmaceutical industry.
* Strong background in Project Management, Commercial Excellence, Product Management or Marketing.
* Possess a process driven mindset with a drive to analyze the root cause and continuous improvement opportunities. Also, digitally savvy.
* Experience managing data systems and data reporting requirements and communicating nuanced data stories to a broad audience.
* Drive to learn new skills, tackle projects independently, and take ownership of key deliverables with an inherent 'can do' attitude
* Excellent ability to collaborate across functions and align stakeholders to manage projects effectively.
* Ability to navigate and communicate effectively at all levels of the organization for strategic influencing
